A Professional Manufacturer of Smart Interactive Screens For More Than 10 Years
Nowadays, the touch screen market is mainly infrared touch and capacitive touch. Screens with other touch technologies are gradually less and less in the market. So what is the difference between an infrared touch screen and a capacitive touch screen?
1. Working principle:
1). Infrared Touch Screen Technology is composed of infrared emitting and receiving sensing elements installed on the outer frame of the touch screen. On the surface of the screen, an infrared detection network is formed. Any opaque touch object can change the Infrared to achieve touch screen operation.
2). Capacitive touch screen technology uses the current induction of the human body to work. The capacitive touch screen is a four-layer composite glass screen. The inner surface and interlayer of the glass screen are each coated with a layer of ITO. The outermost layer is a thin layer of silica glass protective layer. The interlayer ITO coating is used as the working surface. Four electrodes, the inner ITO is the shielding layer to ensure a good working environment.
2. Comparison of infrared screen and capacitive screen
1). Advantages of infrared screen: cheap price, suitable for large size, can be spliced up to 300 inches or even bigger, can be used with splicing screen without glass, good explosion-proof performance, anti-glare and anti-light, waterproof, and can be touched by any object , Completely enclosed and maintenance-free, suitable for harsh environments, and the number of touch points can be selected arbitrarily.
Disadvantages: The infrared screen has an infrared frame that forms a concave surface around the body, and the overall aesthetics will be slightly worse than that of the capacitor.
2). Advantages of capacitive screen: high touch sensitivity, no need to press hard, good permeability, high resolution, flat, anti-glare, waterproof, pure flat, more beautiful and thinner, easier to achieve waterproof function, and quick response more sensitive.
Cons: Limited size and high price, especially in large sizes. In addition, if the entire screen body is damaged somewhere, the entire screen will be useless.
From a comprehensive comparison, capacitive infrared screens have their own advantages and disadvantages, and the choice mainly depends on actual needs.
